This month, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that they’re hosting this year’s Dubai International Project Management Forum. This will be the fourth forum in its history, with masterclasses, award showcases, keynote lectures and more. If you’re interested in going, or don’t know what it’s about, here are 5 reasons this year’s event will be unmissable.
- Attend Masterclasses
Every PMP holder knows that you don’t stop learning once you have the certificate. In fact, it’s through project work and peer networking that we often learn the most. That’s why the forum is hosting masterclasses. The aim is solving some of the biggest and most common issues project managers face. Those who attend can get to grips with agile project management, learn how to establish a PMO and more.
- Win Awards
If you’re a project management professional or specialist, you could be eligible for a Hamdan bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management. These awards recognize project management talent and creativity. Best of all, any project manager, team or organization can enter, no matter where they’re based. Applications opened in March, but the deadline to submit is 30 June 2017.
- Network
For project managers in the Arab world and internationally, this could be the best networking platform available. As the Middle East grows its international presence in areas like construction, Dubai is becoming a project management hub. The Dubai International Project Management Forum will be a rare opportunity to connect with all new people, organizations and opportunities.
- Go on Technical Visits
On November 19, you can visit the Etihad Museum, Dubai Water Canal or the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. These technical visits let you explore some of Dubai’s most ambitious and successful projects. You’ll get a guided tour along with a presentation on the construction project and a Q&A session.
- Earn PDUs
Perhaps best of all, you can register your time here with PMI and renew your PMP certificate. While taking in the sights of Dubai and creating new networking opportunities, you can also earn up to 26 Professional Development Units (PDUs). That’s nearly half the 60 PDUs you need for three years. All you need to do is take full advantage of what the forum has to offer.
